TRAVEL & STAY
Our Venue: Casa Duende
Carriage House
Casa Duende is nestled in the heart of Lower East Side, sometimes abbreviated as LES. It is renowned for its ideal location and cool-but-relaxed vibe, offering a mix of classic establishments and hip new places to explore. It is where one would typically find gritty alleys and tenement-style buildings mix with upscale apartments and chic boutiques. Nighttime draws hip, young crowds to the area's trendy bars, music venues and restaurants. The neighborhood's Jewish heritage lives on through Orchard Street's Lower East Side Tenement Museum and old-world fabric stores, as well as traditional delis such as Katz's and Russ & Daughters.

Getting There
We highly recommend to reach the venue by public transport via the New York Subway or by Uber or Lyft as parking and traffic can be challenging around the area. The Subway stops are only about a 3 to 10 minute walk to Casa Duende.

Our Favorite Spots
Our reception venue is nestled within New York City, the city where we both fell for each other. As you come visit and spend the weekend with us, let us give you our favorite spots and recommendations on where to dine, and have fun!

Katsu Hama
Located in midtown Manhattan, this No-frills Japanese comfort food joint is our go-to for our family meals.

Metropolitan Museum of Art
Referred to as the Met, is an encyclopedic art museum in NYC. By floor area, it is the fourth-largest museum in the world and the largest art museum in the Americas. We personally love the Egyptian wing the most for it's views towards Central Park.

Central Park
Central Park is an urban park between the Upper West Side and Upper East Side neighborhoods of Manhattan in New York City, and the first landscaped park in the United States.

Jungle Bird
Located in Manhattan's Chelsea Neighborhood, this bar Jungle Bird is a cocktail destination with a food menu to match. We went here for our second date.

Korea Town
Otherwise known as K-Town, is an ethnic Korean enclave in Manhattan's Midtown, centered on 32nd Street between Madison Avenue and Broadway.

Anita's Gelato
Hands down our favorite Gelato creamery. It has plenty of locations throughout the city.

DUMBO
Dumbo is short for “Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass”, perfectly describing where this creative neighborhood in Brooklyn is located. It is known for its many art galleries, coffee shops, the Brooklyn Bridge Park and cobblestone streets

Caledonia
With locations in the Upper East Side and the Upper West Side, this Scottish Pub offers the BEST whiskies in town.
